The popcorn removal process is a series of steps. First, the perimeters and the floor of the rooms being treated must be isolated. This is done by taping or stapling a plastic drop cloth throughout the room. Second, the popcorn must be scraped. After scraping the popcorn many defects in the drywall beneath become prevalent. Some joints need re-taping and many seems need to be floated out. After this is done the entire ceiling must be sanded. Once the surface is prepped then it is time to spray the texture, this is the least time consuming, yet the most skilled part of the job. Finally, clean-up.
